The Solution Focused Student
How to invite resilience, conscientiousness, optimism, self-control, and grit into the lives of your students, every day.

Linda Metcalf is a long-time favorite for California School Counselors.  This year she is offering an advanced-level workshop, providing participants with a conversational toolbox of strategies to use to create college/career readiness, improve academic advising and achieve better attendance in their students of all ages.  Utilizing a solution focused approach, the training will concentrate on building specific techniques to help students identify their own strengths, which leads to more cooperation and better choices academically and behaviorally. The idea is to seek to encourage students to "solution build" on their own.  The result is better attendance, engagement and success.

Dr. Metcalf is a Professor at Texas Wesleyan University and the Director of the Graduate Counseling Programs and is a sought-after national and international presenter, and author of eight books on solution-focused counseling.
