WACAC Share, Learn and Connect Programs 2015
The Western Association for College Admission Counseling (WACAC) is pleased to present the 2015 Share, Learn, Connect (SLC) program schedule. The SLC events are designed to provide an affordable professional development opportunity for individuals working with students in their transition to college. This program is focused on the needs of public high schools, transfer programs, community based organizations, and under-resourced independent schools. We hope that you'll consider attending one or more of the four programs this spring!

Past session topics have included (2015 session options may vary):
Advising athletes, what the Common Core means for counselors, managing large case loads, 4-year advising plans, Naviance for beginners, Naviance for intermediate and advanced users, financial aid, collaborating with independent counselors, gaining administrative support for counseling resources, advising for business, STEM advising, strategies /options for students with learning disabilities, working with undocumented students, arts portfolio, essay writing, effective letters of recommendation, the transfer process (advising for success at a CC), the transfer process (advising for the transition to a 4 year), professional development resources for college counselors, stealth applicants, college application review process, UC personal statement case study, Admission trends, Summer enrichment programs, developing the college list, gap year programs, WUE (Western Undergraduate Exchange), finding value at private colleges, supporting 1st gen students and families through the application process.

Member rate is $60, Non-member rate is $80
2-year and 4-year college members can register to have a table in the college fair for $60.
You must log-in as a current member to register at the member rate. Note: it takes approx. one week to process the payment for a membership application or renewal. The annual membership fee is $45.00. Sign-up or renew today to be ready when the SLC registration opens.
