Solution-Focused Training - 11/02/18
Are you interested in improving your solution-focused counseling techniques? CASC is offering two half-day trainings with internationally renowned Solution-Focused Counseling expert Dr. Linda Metcalf. Dr. Metcalf is not new to California, however she typically only trains for us once every couple of years. Individuals who attend trainings with Dr. Metcalf are amazed at what they can learn and take back to work place and use the very next day. Don't miss out! Addressing Mental Health Issues in Students, K-12
(8:30 – 11:30 a.m.)
This workshop will address the common mental health issues associated with today's students from childhood through adolescence. A refresher course on common diagnoses and psychiatric treatments will be provided as well as conversations and groups to use to provide school-based assistance. Helping Teachers to Become Aware of Mental Health Needs in the Classroom and Know How to Respond
(12:30 - 3:30 p.m.)
This workshop will provide the school counselor with ideas on presenting basic information on mental health to teachers so that teachers can deal more effectively with students of concern. Basic information on what to provide teachers and skill building ideas for helping teachers practice new ways of relating to students will be addressed. To register for this session, click here

Linda Metcalf, PhD, LMFT is the author of eleven books including Counseling Toward Solutions (1995, 2008, Wiley), Teaching Toward Solutions (Crown House, 2005), Marriage and Family Therapy: A Practice Oriented Approach (Springer, 2011, 2019). She has presented hundreds of seminars in the United States, Australia, Japan, Newfoundland, Germany, Scotland, England, Norway, Amsterdam, Singapore, Thailand, Canada and China. She is also the Past President of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and Past President of the Texas Association for Marriage and Family therapy. She lives in Fort Worth, Texas with her husband Roger. Together, they are proud parents of three adult children, Roger Jr., Kelli and Ryan and two golden retrievers named Ringo and Ranger.
