National School Counseling Week
National School Counseling Week (NSCW) 2019, "School Counselors: Providing Lessons for Life," will be recognized Feb. 4 to 8. The goal is to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. National School Counseling Week is sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ACSA).

Donations Sought for Paradise School Counselors
As the Butte County region still reels from the worst fire in California history, educators are faced with the challenging task of creating a sense of normality for their students. CASC officials have been in touch with school counselors from Paradise Unified School District, which was hit hardest with multiple school buildings lost to the fires.

Breaking news: LAUSD reached a tentative agreement with teachers and support staff!
In support of district and the union, CASC prepared this official statement: "CASC stands behind the LAUSD teachers, school counselors, nurses and other support staff as they go on strike. Their union representatives are asking for a number of concessions from their district, one of which is for additional funding for the hiring of more school counselors. CASC supports UTLA and it's efforts."

CASC School Counselor of the Year Award: Call for Nominations
It is time to submit your nominations for the annual CASC DONALD G. HAYS SCHOOL COUNSELOR OF THE YEAR AWARD. Winners will be recognized at the annual CASC Conference Awards Luncheon, which will be held this year at the Riverside Convention Center on October 3-4, 2019.
