Impact of Public Charge on Public EducationApproximately one million students in California live with one parent who is undocumented and many more live with a parent who is on a visa or is who is considered a permanent resident. These parents may be concerned about the redefinition of "Public Charge," which was due to go into effect on Oct. 15, and this could have an impact on students in your school district.
Call for Proposals
CASC is now calling for proposals from those who wish to present at the 3rd Annual Northern California School Counselor Conference. This year's event will be held at the Double Tree Hotel on February 3, 2020. Anyone interested in presenting a session at the conference should complete the application form by clicking below.
The deadline to apply is Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. Presentations will be chosen by November 30 and applicants will be notified shortly thereafter.
New Chat Room for Room for LGBTQ+ Teenswww.qchatspace.org. It is a live chat space. There is no audio or video. Conversations are facilitated by experienced staff who work at the LGBTQ centers across the US, but they are not mental health professionals. Young people can use this site to gain support and build community in a safe environment. There is also a list of resources on the website.
