Today, at a morning assembly held at Livingston Middle School, in Livingston, California, Alma Lopez learned that she was named the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), School Counselor of the Year.

Today, at a morning assembly held at Livingston Middle School, in Livingston, California, Alma Lopez learned that she was named the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), School Counselor of the Year. Ms. Lopez is the first California school counselor to receive this distinction. At the celebratory assembly, Lopez was joined by Amanda Fitzpatrick from ASCA, CASC representatives, Dr. Loretta Whitson, Joanna Aragon and Marilyn Harryman, Superintendent Andres Zamora, principal, Jorge Arteaga, her colleagues and her students. We proudly congratulate Alma Lopez as the 2022 National School Counselor of the Year. Alma will be celebrated in Washington D.C. in February 2022.
