Please join us for an afternoon exploring resources for Student Mental Health Week on May 4-8, 2020 and for a deeper look into the new co-sponsored web resource found on covid19k12counseling.org;
This two-part 1.5 hour practical webinar will be held on April 28, 2020 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM. We know with competing web-based professional development opportunities currently being offered to address school counseling in this time of COVID-19, it is easy to pass up trainings to balance professional obligations and needs. Do not pass this one up! California's first Student Mental Health Week is around the corner and we want all school counselors to discover the resources available for you to draw attention to this very important issue. Also, we are certain you will find great value in having the COVID-19 School Counseling Emergency Task Force walk you through some of the outstanding resources on the newly launched COVID-19 K-12 School Counseling website.
Part I: This segment of the webinar will provide an overview of events and resources associated with California Student Mental Health Week (SMHW) (May 4-8, 2020). The first annual SMHW is an advocacy effort designed to draw attention to mental health issues facing California youth. With lessons, activities and social media posts available for downloading.
The week draws a parallel between student mental health and the work school counselors do every day to support mental wellness in our students. CASC sponsored bill ACR 172 (Assemblymember Low), Student Mental Health Week is CASC first policy effort in drawing attention to this very important issue.
Part II: Join members of the COVID-19 Emergency Task Force as they introduce key resources on the recently launched COVID-19 Website http://covid19k12counseling.
