Two-Part Webinar: Student Mental Health Week (May 4-8, 2020) & Deep-Dive into New COVID-19 Counseling Website
Please join us for an afternoon exploring resources for Student Mental Health Week on May 4-8, 2020 and for a deeper look into the new co-sponsored web resource found on http://covid19k12counseling.
Part I: This segment of the webinar will provide an overview of events and resources associated with California Student Mental Health Week (SMHW) (May 4-8, 2020). The first annual SMHW is an advocacy effort designed to draw attention to mental health issues facing California youth. With lessons, activities and social media posts available for downloading.
The week draws a parallel between student mental health and the work school counselors do every day to support mental wellness in our students. CASC sponsored bill ACR 172 (Assemblymember Low), Student Mental Health Week is CASC first policy effort in drawing attention to this very important issue.
Part II: Join members of the COVID-19 Emergency Task Force as they introduce key resources on the recently launched COVID-19 Website http://covid19k12counseling.
Facilitator: Lezya Weglarz, Chair, COVID-19 School Counseling Emergency Task Force
Panel members: Amy Dauble-Madigan, CASC President (2018-19); Dr. Loren Dittmar, CASC Chair Emerging Leaders; Josh Godinez, CASC President (2020-21); Dr. Becky Love, Shasta County Coordinator of School Counselors; Sarah Slemmons, CASC 2020 School Counselor of the Year; Dr. Loretta Whitson, CASC Executive Director
