Nominations and Election

The CASC Board of Directors is comprised of eleven (11) members of the California Association of School Counselors. These individuals have been voted in by a ballot of their peers in elections that happen biannually - five (5) individuals chosen in one election and six (6) chosen in another two years later. Each board member serves a four year term who are dedicated school counselor-advocates and who are focused on creating conditions so California School Counselors can practice with the highest level of effectiveness using an equity lens. CASC plays a vital role in promoting the profession of school counseling to all our stakeholders on a state, regional and national level. It is through the dedication of the members of the CASC Board that we ensure school counselors remain leaders in the field of education.

The Association is required per its bylaws to have a Nominations and Elections committee who "follow guidelines for selecting candidates for election to the Association’s Board of Directors in accordance with Article V, Sections 4 and 5 of the bylaws". The leadership of the Association is critical to its success and those who serve on the Nominations and Elections committee are just as essential.

We strongly encourage CASC members interested in having a significant impact on our profession to apply to serve on the CASC Nominations and Elections Committee.
