April 26 in Redwood City

CASC has assembled a dynamic professional development day on Friday, April 26 to be held at Cañada College in Redwood City!

Effectively Managing Your Caseload, No Matter the Size, Using a Solution Focused Approach
8:00 AM - 11:30 AM

The morning session will be conducted by school counselor and CASC trainer Arond Schonberg. This 3.5-hour interactive session is designed to teach school counselors how to manage their caseloads using a solution focused approach. Attendees will learn constructive ways to get through the day, getting more things done, ultimately allowing more time to meet with students. Arond has trained for CASC for years and always receives rave reviews from attendees.

Youth & Marijuana; Changing the Dialogue
12:00 PM - 3:30 PM

The afternoon session will be conducted by renown entrepreneur and activist Sarah Grippa. Sarah will share the “ins and outs” of youth marijuana use in the aftermath of legalization. From the latest research on marijuana use on adolescent brain development, to strategies school counselors can use with students and their families, participants will take away practical information and tips they can use immediately.

Participants may attend one or both workshops. This series of trainings are sponsored by the Bay Area School Counselor Consortium.
