CASC Emeriti Scholarship

The California Association of School Counselors (CASC) Emeriti Scholarship, established in 2016, supports talented and innovative graduate students who demonstrate leadership potential in the field of school counseling. Made possible through the generosity of the CASC Board of Directors, this scholarship recognizes students who are committed to advancing the profession. Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $2,000. This opportunity is open to all eligible graduate students, regardless of immigration status.

April 15, 2026, and closes May 17, 2026, at 11:59 PM PST.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be considered for CASC Emeriti Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a current member of CASC
  • Be enrolled in a California graduate school counseling program
  • Have completed or are currently enrolled in a minimum of 12 graduate units
  • Submit current transcripts (informal transcripts are acceptable, provided the graduate school’s name appears on the document)
  • Submit three letters of recommendation:
  • a) Two references from graduate school faculty members
  • b) One reference from either a current or former employer or volunteer supervisor, or an additional faculty member
  • Submit answers to essay questions that:
  • Describes the personal experiences that led you to pursue school counseling
  • Highlights your leadership experience in the field and your aspirations for future contributions
  • Lists relevant extracurricular activities or community service related to school counseling


Application Review:

 Applications will be evaluated based on:

  • Completion of the application
  • Quality of the essay
  • Transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation


Additional Information:

  • Applicants who previously received an Emeriti Scholarship are not eligible to apply again.
  • Applicants are encouraged to become involved in CASC committees & attend CASC
  • events.
