In California, May is officially recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month, with the first full week frequently proclaimed by the Governor as Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week to focus on youth wellness, self harm prevention, and reducing stigma.
National School Counseling Week is an opportunity to recognize and elevate the essential role school counselors play in California’s schools. Throughout the week, we celebrate how school counselors amplify student success by supporting academic achievement, social-emotional well-being, and college and career readiness for all students.
